Ender 3 Max Open Box and Test -New upgrades

Since Ender 3 3D printer was released a couple of years ago, It won the favour of many people due to its low-price and stability. Now, its family has a new member – Ender 3 Max.

Besides Ender3 Pro, Ender 3 V2, I will introduce the newest Ender 3 Max in this article. Let’s have a quick glance at the machine.

Ender 3 Max Parameter

Although the Ender 3 Max’s machine size and weight don’t increase too much, the Printing size of it increases to 300*300*340mm. WOW. The mainboard of 3 Max is Creality V 4.2.2, but there are two sub-visions of it: silent and non-silent. Please confirm it with the sales when you buy it. ( the 3 Max that I test has a non-silent board.)

Open Box

ender 3 maxAs we can see above, the package size is about 67*55*30cm. All the parts are well organized and placed inside.

Same as other Ender 3 3D printers, the Ender 3 Max has two main structures: The base frame and the Gantry frame. The difference is that 3 Max’s gantry frame is wider than the base, which increases the printing area and changes the fastening position to the side. The side fastening really makes the assembly much easier than other Ender 3 Printers (we don’t have to flip the machine and fasten the screws from the bottom).

There is one thing we need to pay attention to the new change of Ender 3 Max. When we assemble the gantry frame, we need to make sure it is perpendicular to the base frame.

I got the Ender 3 MAX and set it up and boy are the fans noisey (Way too loud). It came with silent board. Axis wheels are very notchy and I did strip the Y before assemble and adjust the preload. I got successful prints using a CR10 base for the profile in Cura and adjusting the bed level with the 20×20 squares in each corner. Noctua Fans fitted on day two and BLTouch waiting to be installed.

Yes, I was blinded by reviews of the Ender 3 Max, but, I’ve yet to get it to print. I fitted mine with the BLTouch which did away with the end stop problem, I leveled the bed, adjusted the offset with a piece of paper until I had that nice rasping sound, and tried to print. Looking at the nozzle, and it was way to high fron the bed. Readjusted the off set again and re checked the level and once again the same thing happened……At that point I gave up.

I just recieved my ender 6 last friday. I have a problem with hotend fan, its super noisy. I opend the fan case using screw and i found out the fan wing came broken. Im very sad. I waited very long and still i could get the perfect product. Besides that the heat 1 cable comes out automatically during the print because its loose.
Hotend wiring needs upgrade. Its pulling cables pretty hardwhile the hotend is moving. Which stops the print.

Besides that for the price i paid i thought bltouch was included but not. Very frustrating to manually level the bed for each print. I wrote customer service on facebook but they are not responding. I am thinking of returning the item.

I bought this 3D printer after reading glowing internet reviews about Creality …
I am extremely disappointed … The reputation for quality of Creality is really not there !!! This printer is like the Chinese industry: a big shit …
The bed is so bulging that it is impossible to print anything other than the corners … there is a gap of almost 2mm between the center of the bed and its corners !!! The bed support is not rectilinear (twisted?), The bed adjustments are a totally ineffective “lego” game, on the one hand because of its technical design, on the other hand because of the bed so convex that it is impossible to properly adjust the space between the extruder and the bed …
In addition, it is impossible to remove the nozzle from the extruder … probably too tight during assembly … in short … a new machine at 350 € unusable for which I will have to replace the extruder, replace the bed and design a bed support worthy of the name … Thank you Creativity … this is my first purchase from you, I can assure you that it is also the last … :-(
