silent mainboard

Turned my Ender3x into a machine that sounds & feels Professional, BUT where did the mains fail recovery capability go & the Extruder drive bias seems to be set wrong The Extruder now jumps back occasionally (It is not due to filament drag)

My Ender 5 is so much quieter now!!!

I installed this in my Creality Ender 5 3D printer. I could not figure out how to flash the .hex file that Creality provides to it, and the source code they provide would not compile, so I installed Marlin 1.1.9 that YouTuber TeachingTech modified for the Ender 5.

It is amazing the change this has made to the printer! The fan is now the loudest thing. The motors are so silent now, when they move at print speeds I can't hear a thing. I never ever hear the extruder or the Z axis motors! I sometimes hear the x and y motors when they move from one area to another without printing, but the sound of that is still not even 1/4 as loud as the extruder fan. I set my print speeds to 50mm/s print and 100mm/s move. Now I want to do something about the extruder fan noise!

This made a huge difference for me because I live in a small apartment with hardwood floors. Sound travels extremely well in this apartment. I was previously afraid of doing long prints because the printer is too loud to sleep with. Last night I printed while I was sleeping and the only thing I could hear was the extruder fan, and it wasn't too difficult to fall asleep to that, and it did not wake me up! I simply woke up in the morning to a finished print!
